Well, this is actually a piece of fan art I made, but the digital section of the Fan Art gallery doesn't have a photo manip catagory, and the Photo Manip gallery doesn't have a fan art catagory. *Sigh* Never mind.
Anyway, on to the image! Its Bob! From the Dresden Files novels. For those who haven't read the books (and if you haven't, why haven't you!?), Bob is a talking skull owned by Harry Dresden. Bob is a spirit of air and intelligence bound into a human skull, and he basically keeps Harry orgainsed. He also has an obssession with human sexuality, so he always has an assortment of trashy romance novels around (I really couldn't be bothered to put one in, plus there wasn't any stock I could find of mills and boon books) and can always be bribed to do things with the promise of girls underwear. He is never happier than when Harry allows him to leave his skull for a bit so he can go hang oround strip joints, women shower rooms etc. In the TV series Bob was a ghost bound to a skull, not an air spirit, so he had a human form. But the original Bob from the books is my favourite
The title is taken from the latest novel, Small Favour, he yells it when reading on of his novels. I could have just called the piece "Bob" or "Bob the Skull" but where is the fun in that?! Another well known Bob quote is:
"Harry, what you know about women, I could juggle" which you can get on a t-shirt or even better, underwear, from Cafe Press I will own such an item one day!
I've seen the tv. show but never read the books (it's a long-term goal). Regardless of the fact that the book and TV Bobs seem to me to be completely different people, book!Bob sounds INCREDIBLY Awesome. What you said about him made me laugh so much... okay, now I want to read the books even more than I did before.
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
